《阳台之吻》诞生于三位音乐人对彼此音乐才华和共同好奇心的深深着迷。2016年在加利福尼亚州奥克兰的一场酒吧演出中相识后，玛德琳·肯尼、本·斯隆和斯蒂芬·帕托塔偶尔会合作创作各类歌曲和专辑，肯尼2023年的专辑《新现实思维》发行后，三人一同进行了巡演。这次巡演在音乐上令人备受鼓舞，于是这 trio 想尝试一起制作一张完整的专辑（尽管他们住在三个不同的城市）。起初只是各自硬盘里的零星片段，后来发展成对声音、 vocal 表现、制作风格和世界观构建的大胆探索。孤独、理想化的爱情、怨恨和女性身份等抒情主题都只是配角，核心主题是：合作能让一个想法充分发展并展翅飞翔。

Kiss from the Balcony is what happens when three musicians become enamored with one another’s musical abilities and shared curiosities. After meeting at a bar gig in Oakland, CA in 2016, and sporadically collaborating on various songs and albums, Madeline Kenney, Ben Sloan, and Stephen Patota toured together after the release of Kenney’s 2023 record A New Reality Mind. The tour was so musically invigorating, the trio wanted to try their hand at a full album together (despite living in three different cities). Songs that began as scraps on their respective hard drives blossomed into wild explorations of sound, vocal performance, production styles, and world-building. The lyrical themes of solitude, idealized romance, resentment, and womanhood are supporting actors to the main theme: collaboration allows an idea to grow to its fullest potential and take flight.
