The Moragues Woodwind Quintet was formed in 1980 by the three Moragues brothers, Michel, the eldest brother, and the twin brothers Pascal and Pierre, and continues to be active internationally as one of France's leading woodwind ensembles. All members are graduates of the prestigious Paris Conservatoire, and all members are active in top French orchestras such as the Orchestre de Paris, the Orchestre de Paris Opera, and the Orchestre National de France. A famous recording of Ravel by Claire Desert, another world-renowned pianist representing France, is reissued by "Indesens Calliope". Maurice Ravel is one of the greatest artists of the orchestra. In this album, David Walter, the oboist of the ensemble and a master arranger who has expanded the repertoire since the ensemble's formation, reconstructs the masterpieces left behind by Ravel, known as the magician of the orchestra, for woodwind quintet and piano, a wonderful project.
